3. In a separate bowl whisk the egg and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla essence and whisk for a minute then add the melted butter and mix till all the ingredients are combined.
4. Add half the dry ingredients and fold then add the milk then add the other dry ingredients and fold carefully. do not over mix. I added poppy seeds but this is optional.
